FAQ

A discovery call is a gentle, no-pressure conversation where we talk about what’s bringing you here, what support you’re looking for, and whether working
together feels like the right fit.
You don’t need to prepare anything perfectly. You can simply come as you are and share as much or as little as feels comfortable.

No. Most people don’t arrive with everything neatly worked out.
You might know you feel stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in the same patterns. That’s enough to begin with.
We can talk through what’s going on and decide together whether coaching, IFS, Havening, Limited Light Therapy, or a blend of approaches feels most
supportive.

Internal Family Systems, often known as IFS, is a gentle way of working with the different parts of yourself.
You might have a part that overthinks, a part that people-pleases, a part that shuts down, a part that gets angry, or a part that feels scared, ashamed, rejected
or not enough.
IFS helps us listen to these parts with curiosity rather than criticism. We explore why they are there, what they are protecting, and what they need now.

No. IFS can support people with many different experiences.
It can be helpful if you struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, relationship patterns, low self-worth, inner criticism, family dynamics, or
feeling disconnected from yourself.
You don’t need a diagnosis or a dramatic story to benefit from this work.

Transformational coaching helps you understand yourself more deeply and move forward with more clarity, confidence and self-trust.
We may explore patterns, beliefs, boundaries, relationships, values, identity, purpose, and what keeps getting in the way of the life you want to create.
It isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about helping you access your own insight and start making choices that feel more true to you.

Havening is a gentle, body-based approach that uses soothing touch, attention and guided support to help calm the nervous system.
It can be helpful when emotions feel intense, when your body feels activated, or when talking alone doesn’t feel like enough.
It can be used within a wider session if we feel it would support you.

Limited Light Therapy is a calm, supportive addition that may help create a sense of grounding, stillness and gentle regulation.
It can be used alongside IFS, coaching or Havening where appropriate.
I don’t treat it as a magic cure. It is simply another supportive tool that may help you slow down, settle your system and reconnect with yourself.

I offer an initial package of six one-hour sessions.
This gives us time to build trust, understand what’s really going on, and work at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
After the initial six sessions, we can review where you are and decide what feels right next.

The initial package is six one-hour sessions for £720.
Sessions are available online or in person in Gawsworth, Cheshire.
A small additional charge applies for face-to-face sessions to cover room hire costs.

I don’t offer one-off sessions to new clients.
This is because the work I offer needs time, trust and emotional safety. We may be exploring protective parts, old patterns, deeper feelings and nervous
system responses, so I don’t want the work to feel rushed or unsupported.

After we have completed the initial six sessions, one-off sessions may be available for existing clients.

Yes. Online sessions are available and can work beautifully.
Many people find online sessions easier because they can be in their own space, with a blanket, a cuppa, or whatever helps them feel settled.

Face-to-face sessions take place in a private therapy room in Gawsworth, Cheshire.
A small additional charge applies for in-person sessions due to room hire costs.

That’s completely normal.
A part of you may want support, while another part feels unsure, guarded, or worried about what might come up. We can work with that gently.
You won’t be pushed to talk about anything before you’re ready.

Not necessarily.
We begin with what’s showing up now. Sometimes that naturally leads us towards earlier experiences, family dynamics or old wounds. Sometimes we stay with
present-day patterns and what your system is trying to protect.
We go at your pace.

It can be either, or a blend of both.
IFS offers a deeper therapeutic way of working with parts, emotions, patterns and wounds. Coaching helps you bring that awareness into your present life,
choices, relationships, boundaries and future.
We’ll shape the work around what you need.

I work with people who feel stuck in patterns they can’t quite make sense of.
This may include overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, anxiety, low self-worth, resentment, emotional overwhelm, relationship patterns, family
dynamics, inner criticism, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
Many people I work with are already self-aware, but still feel like something deeper hasn’t shifted yet.

That’s ok.
You don’t need to arrive with a neat story or a perfectly organised list of things to talk about.
Sometimes we start with a feeling. A recent trigger. A body sensation. A pattern you’ve noticed. Or even, “I don’t know what’s here today.”
That can be a perfectly good place to begin.

Sometimes, but only if it feels useful.
This might be a reflection prompt, a simple noticing exercise, or something gentle to support the work between sessions.
It won’t be a huge list of tasks that makes you feel like you’ve accidentally signed up for emotional GCSEs.

Yes, sessions are confidential, with the usual safeguarding exceptions. This means I may need to act if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else,
or if I am legally required to share information.
We can talk through this clearly before we begin, so you know where you stand.
